Location location location AND we had a great breakfast! Speedos Cafe is in a prime position at North Bondi, facing out on to one of Sydney’s iconic beaches. It has such a great view on to Bondi Beach and the food and coffee is really good here too. What a great combination!
It was morning when we arrived and our bodies were calling for coffee! These were our first coffees of the day and we just couldn’t wait to have them. Sir, his usual skim flat white and Mlady her usual, weak soy cappuccino. These arrived quickly and were such a good start to the day.
Next - decisions decisions decisions - what to have to eat? They have a great varied breakfast menu here with lots to choose from. We took our time to choose as there were so many things we liked.
Mlady loves scrambled eggs. These are a bit of a ‘go to’ for her. She thought she would still try scrambled but went with scrambled egg whites. She chose the Protein Power which was six scrambled egg whites (yes - six!!!), smoked salmon, avocado, baby spinach and rye sourdough. She loves her ‘greens’ too so the breakfast was a hit with her. It looked so good when it arrived. It was vibrantly appetising and all the ingredients went so well together. It was such a substantial serving too which she thoroughly enjoyed and it was such a great way to start the day.
Sir’s ‘go to’ breakfast or brunch is usually something grilled so from the ‘Classic’ menu he had the “Big Breaky”. This again was a substantial serving with eggs (the way you like them) so Sir had them fried and sunny side up cos he likes to cut into the yolk it and see it’s golden goodness ooze out. It also had a pile of bacon, beef sausages with relish, hash browns, roasted tomatoes and a stack of Turkish toast. He also added a side of halloumi - oink oink! The challenge was where to start with this big amazing breakfast? Again, this looked so good and tasted so good. It was a hearty breakfast to start the day which Sir really enjoyed and eagerly devoured.
The food at Speedos Cafe is fresh, vibrant and incredibly substantial with a very diverse menu. They definitely have something for everyone. Their coffee too, is very good.
