Chat Thai really is an institution. The term is heavily overused but it is so appropriate in this case. They’ve been churning out delicious Thai food for so long and really have set a benchmark for others to aspire to in the area. We dropped in for a very quick bite for lunch and were lucky to score a table straight away.
Our first choice was an old favourite with Thai - chicken pad see ew. This big meal had its expected wide flat noodles, egg, chicken, broccoli and greens all coated in a tangy sauce. It was nice and filling and also very tasty.
The other selection was a combination. It was rice and veggies as a dish with an extra side of crispy pork belly. It wasn’t a set combination that was on the menu but a constructed one that turned out to work really well together.
If you’ve ever been here you’d know that their menu has plenty of options. Even their slightly shorter lunch menu has so much on it.
The Chat Thai empire has spread across Sydney for a reason. They do great Thai food. It’s a place you can go to and be confident that whatever you order it’s going to be tasty and high quality. We’ve never been let down!
