Every now and then it’s nice to grab some Indian curry and head for home for a quiet night in. Indian is ideal for take away, especially on a cold night. The curries certainly warm you through. We started with papadams and minted yoghurt to dip them in. The crunch and tang is great. We then grabbed some onion bhaji, a favourite of Sirs. He loves these onion fritters made with chickpea batter and ALWAYS orders it if it’s available. It was and he did!

We also ordered some samosas. The crispy pastry was filled with potatoes and peas with a slight hit of spiciness. We love pastry starters - in fact we love pastry anything. These were big and tasty.

Butter chicken must be one of the most ordered Indian dishes in Australia. We love it and often have it on our meal list. The sauce with this had a nice tanginess to it and there were plenty of good sized chicken pieces there too.

We fancied some seafood as well and prawns go so nicely with a curry. We ended up choosing the prawn malabari which was a good number of large prawns cooked in mild spices with coconut cream. This wasn’t a strong curry but we didn’t want that on this occasion anyway. We also grabbed some rice to soak up all the sauces, which it did perfectly.

We always order naan bread when we get Indian. It goes so well and mops up the sauces nicely too. This was beautifully light and fluffy too.

The whole meal turned out to be a tasty dinner with a good selection of dishes to pick and choose from on our table.

The evening turned out great with plenty of tasty and affordable food. Curry House has a decent range of choices available too. It hit our “take away” cravings nicely.
