LONE PINE TAVERN - ROOTY HILL, SYDNEY

Lone Pine Tavern

Rooty Hill, Sydney

Lone Pine Tavern has a relaxed friendly environment that caters to all. They also have a wide variety of tasty food and their servings are substantial. It’s a place that caters to a wide variety of tastes and preferences.

Mlady and company popped in to Lone Pine for a relaxing lunch. There’s both inside and outside seating but the decision was made to sit indoors. Simply choose your meal from the menu, place your order at the counter and you are then given one of those light up thingys that do in fact “light up” and buzz when your meal in ready to be collected. There is a good selection of sauces and condiments too near the cutlery where you collect your food. As it was lunch and there was a busy afternoon to follow, we all had soft drinks but there’s an extensive bar there for those wanting something stronger.

After the necessary perusal of the menu, and wanting a lighter meal, one main was taken from the ‘Kids Seniors’ menu which was battered fish served with chips. There were plenty of chips with this nicely battered cooked fish.

The other two meals were the same. Both had pan grilled Barramundi served with a choice of chips and salad or mash and veggies. We both opted (for a change) to go with mash and veggies. Mlady loves mash and this was a lovely creamy one, and there was plenty of it! A selection of veggies went nicely. The pan grilled Barramundi really was lovely. It had a nicely crisped skin and the fish was cooked perfectly to a nice, tender and juicy consistency

It’s a big place here with plenty of seating. There’s a bar area as well as a separate bistro space too. Most people visiting the bar area are simply having a drink before a meal.

Although we didn’t have the steaks this time, they have quite a range on offer here. We’d gladly return to visit a bit more of the menu.
