VN City is a gem of a place in Strathfield offering delicious Vietnamese food in a relaxed environment. It ticks all tghe boxes with big servings at very affordable prices. You certainly won’t leave hungry! Right now you can also take away to keep eating their delicious food!
We started with a few drinks. Sir went for the avocado shake. He loves avocado and the thought of it in a shake intrigued him. He loved it as it turns out. It was thick and sweet but you could definitely taste the avo in there too. Mlady went for a more traditional drink of lemon’ lime and bitters.
There are so many choices here that all sound good, making it hard to know where to start. These are good challenges though!c We ended up having to choose the crab and prawn spring rolls. The thought of this seafood goodness in a crispy roll had us eager to devour them. They really were good too and we’d highly recommend them. They come in servings of four or eight.
Crispy chicken is a specialty here at VN City, and it’s easy to see why once you get it. It comes in a variety of combinations with other food but we had it on its own. It was so good. The chicken was moist and tender and the skin was beautifully crisp. This is a must order dish here in some form or other. Just get it!
This dish may look unassuming but don’t be fooled. It was recommended to us and it was a good one too! Simply called beef cubed with tomato rice (or red rice) it had plenty of extremely tender beef mixed with tender onion served with tomato rice topped with a fried egg and some salad there too. It had plenty of flavour and textures and plenty of food on the plate too!
Unsurprisingly, pho is another specialty here. We of course had to have a bowl. It’s such a filling, tasty dish but every place has their own subtle recipe variations, often handed down through generations. They do a great one here and we ended up with a simple beef pho that was in a tasty broth and had plenty of meat too which cooked quickly in the hot brew.
VN City - we’ll be back. The food here is great - big servings, seriously tasty and very affordable too. What more can you wish for!
