XENOS CAFE RESTAURANT - CROWS NEST, SYDNEY

Xenos Café Restaurant
7 Burlington St
Crows Nest, Sydney

They’ve been around for over 50 years now so you know they’re doing a lot of things right to go that distance! Xenos is a café in the morning. By day it’s a café and restaurant and in the evening they are a bar and restaurant. Covering the full day is clever, but hard work, especially doing it well. They clearly do manage this though - with 50 years as evidence.

We were there for breakfast and the all important first cuppa started our visit. Their coffee machine works overtime at this time of day and yet the coffee comes out quickly still. It’s a good drop too.

The corn fritters are so much more than just two plump tasty fried patties. The dish also comes with two perfectly poached eggs, avocado, roasted tomato, two big slices of toasted sourdough and some tomato relish in a pot. It was a big brekkie with plenty of variety and all nicely cooked. What a great start to the day!

While there’s a long list of breakfast menu options you can order, there’s also the opportunity to mix and match from another long list. That way if you want one certain things, like say avocado, roasted tomatoes and sourdough, you can have them. That combination worked well for a healthy start to the day that was still very substantial.

Xenos is quite a big place, especially with there sprawling al fresco area along the street front. It has a very European feel to it, rightly so based on their Greek heritage.

Xenos offers options for food and drink right across the day and evening. Their menu’s are extensive and their food is very tasty and comes in big sized servings. It’s a lovely spot nestled in bustling Crows Nest.
