Vic’s meat market is located in the fish market district of Pyrmont. It may sound weird that you would visit a fish market for meat, but Vic Meat Market makes the trip well worthwhile. The space is huge with a great balcony overlooking the water. Its part butchery part restaurant, a place where you can pop in for a delicious meal and pick up some amazing high quality produce on the way out.

Vic’s meat market stocks only high quality Australian produce including a range of organic and grass fed meats. The restaurant part includes a smokehouse grill which has been custom built for Vic’s Meat Market and is the largest custom smoker in Australia weighing a whopping 2 tonnes.

We sampled quite a few of Vic’s meat’s specialities, including their famous pulled pork which has taken inspiration from the Carolinas and Memphis’ states and some some perfectly grilled wagyu steaks. Whether in a sandwich or by themselves, they all tasted great.

Whether in a sandwich or by themselves, they all tasted great - but good meat cooked well certainly does taste good in bread or a bun! 

We also enjoyed some young henrys natural lager, which is full of flavour and refreshing.
