MARY'S - DEE WHY, SYDNEY

Dee Why, Sydney

Waking up to a glorious morning we thought that a nice drive to the Northern Beaches for a late brekkie - not quite brunch - would be the order of the day. Walking around, we ended up at Marys Dee Why. There was both inside and outside seating but wanting to take advantage of the weather we sat outside in the shade, as most people did.

This was our all important first coffee of the day. It’s such an important brew to us all isn’t it! Mlady had her usual, weak soy cappuccino and Sir has his usual skim flat white. We really have to say that the coffees here are very good. It was a great start to our meal and to the day! The question at the bottom of the cups was a clever marketing strategy and fun as well.

Sir is quite partial to Eggs ‘Benny’ so he went with this. You can choose between bacon, ham and smoked salmon for an extra cost or have it as it is. On this occasion it was a smoked salmon kind of day! It was very well cooked with nice runny eggs. It was also a nice vibrant looking dish which Sir thoroughly enjoyed.

Mlady did not want a big breakfast so she went with brown sourdough with peanut butter. The two slices of brown sourdough were huge and the peanut butter and butter came in separate containers.

The outdoor area gazes out over a nice grassy space and gets lots of sunlight. There is cover though so you can get the Vitamin D without the glare.

Mary’s is a cute place with some great coffee and nice food. Prices are very reasonable and service e is friendly and efficient. It’s a lovely local café.
