@BANGKOK | HAYMARKET, SYDNEY

Haymarket, Sydney

The question is - how many Thai restaurants can they get into one square kilometre of CBD space? Maybe it really is, how many are to many? Well the answer to both these questions is unknown for now. The area keeps blossoming with new Thai restaurants and they keep getting plenty of eager customers.

@Bangkok is an indoor/outdoor place - in the sense that it's indoor but has a kind of outdoor vibe to it. It has a busy lunch time trade as well as dinners for those in the area - especially pre-show food. We dropped by for a quick one-course of some old favourites.

The pad Thai is always pretty much a yardstick for any Thai restaurant in this area - or anywhere for that matter. This was a decent sized serving. It had good flavours and plenty of meat - in this case chicken. There was nothing to complain about before during or after the meal - which is exactly what you need.

Their pad see ew was just as good. Hot, tangy and tasty - it had plenty of substance, flavour and tender chicken pieces. Another dish that hit the spot!

We left full and satisfied. It's a pleasant place. It's been fitted out in street stall style inside and has a nice feel to it. The service is fast and efficient - at the counter for take away and table service if you're dining in. The food arrives quickly too - ideal for a tight timeframe at lunch or prior to a show.
