Finding good Thai food in Thainatown - that is Haymarket - isn’t a hard exercise. there are so many good choices. Yok Yor Thai Food Factory is one of the best though. It’s a simple place that just keeps churning out really good food and has earened a well deserved great reputation as a result.
Even though it was a quick lunch we still grabbed a cheeky starter. The satay chicken skewers sounded so good they made the cut. They come in servings of either six or twelve so we grabbed a six pack. The chicken was beautifully tender and the skewers arrived bathed in a tangy and tasty satay sauce that was delicious.
We’ve all had Pad Thai. It’s such a “go-to” dish for lunch for so many people. This one had pork instead of the more common chicken as the protein. It was partially deconstructed with the sprouts and crushed nuts ready to be added as you like. The flavours were great and it was a big serving.
Tender chicken pieces stirred with wide flat noodles amd all tossed in a tangy sauce. Sounds appealing doesn’t it! This chicken char kway teow was a good sized serving and very tasty with added greens to give it vibrancy and a bit of variety too.
While the noodle dishes basically sell themselves at lunch time, there is quite a variety on offer here. That said, the staples are hard to go past!
Yok Yor is a casual street food type place with a street food feel to the vibe there. The food is fresh, fragrant and very tasty and it comes in good sized servings. It’s a popular place.
