WESTFIELD CHATSWOOD FOOD TRUCK FESTIVAL | CHATSWOOD, SYDNEY

February 26, 2017

Westfield Chatswood Food Truck Festival
Anderson St
Chatswood, Sydney

The food truck phenomenon just keeps rolling on - pardon the pun. They've steadily grown in popularity as people realise their food is often restaurant quality at bargain prices. Well the folks at Westfield Chatswood recently brought the trucks to them - with their first Westfield Chatswood Food Truck Festival. This mob put on good festivals and events - and this one was no exception. Click here to see what event is next!

We were here as guests and had the opportunity to try the lot - even though it was never going to really happen that way as it would be way too much food. Nevertheless, we decided to do our best to sample a good cross-section from the 12 or so food trucks there.

Not sure what you do at an event like this with a mass of food trucks all belting out goodies but for us the first step is the reconnaissance. Our reccy usually involves a lap of honour to suss out whats available and work out what we're leaning towards choosing. It helps determine if we're staying together for this or heading in separate directions too. Our reccy didn't help a lot though because they all looked pretty good to be honest.

For our meals we grabbed dishes from both The Fancy Banger and Urban Pasta. Both were big servings with the food being ready quickly. The waiting at food trucks is certainly minimal which is a big bonus!

Sweet time next and we chose from both De Wafel and Knafeh. Now we all know these were going to be extra sweet goodies - with the emphasis on good. The waffle was massive and very filling. As for the Knafeh bowl it disappeared in a flash. That stuff is delicious isn't it - and the show and showmanship at their stall is almost as good as the food.

If this wasn't enough - and it was - we then moved on to a few more trucks, namely Italian Artisan Gelato (great gelato too guys) and Nutie Donuts - which in reality wasn't actually a truck but it had a truck load of people in front.

We loved the concept of a food truck festival, the organisation was great and we can't wait for it to happen again next year (if it does - and we hope it does). Thanks to the folks at Westfield for having us and special thanks to Zoe Lamond from Scentre Group for this invitation.
