MUNCH DELI CAFE - WEST PYMBLE, SYDNEY

We were out and about and thought we would eventually have brunch. As it turned out it was actually more like a very late breakfast as it was earlier than expected. So much for drifting around. We ended up here pretty quickly and settled in.

As it was breakfast/brunch it was obviously coffee time too. The coffees here were good! Sir had his usual, skim flat white and Mlady, her usual weak soy cappuccino.

Their breakfast menu has a good variety to choose from with some surprisingly interesting combinations for a quiet suburban place. Sir generally can’t go past anything with smoked salmon and avocado so when he saw the Munch Iconic Brekkie, he just had to have this. This substantial meal had Tasmanian smoked salmon with scrambled eggs and sliced fresh avocado with sprinkled parsley all served on a charcoal bun. It was a very impressive looking breakfast with a lot of colour making it so visually appetising. There was a lot going on with the very tasty flavours and different textures, the scrambled eggs, avocado and Tasmanian smoked salmon. The charcoal toasted bun, gave this dish another dimension.

Mlady does like her greens and can have them in meals morning, noon and night. So, wanting this for brekkie, she went with the Avo Smash. It was another substantial dish that had smashed avocado with feta, tomato and onions all topped with fresh rocket on a lightly toasted soy linseed sourdough bread. It was another very tasty brekkie with plenty of colour, nice flavours and lots of onions for an early day kick. The soy linseed sourdough bread went very well with this dish.

Munch is a pleasant suburban café that has a nice feel inside and a lovely al fresco area right out the front. On a sunny day the outside area fills fast.

Munch has the usual popular dishes available plus a few innovative choices as well. Service was friendly and efficient and the whole experience was a pleasant one.
