Mosman is such a pretty spot with such a big choice of dining options that the competition must be fierce. We found a great spot tucked away in a quaint little laneway, which was especially good. It was a beautiful day so we sat outside, although the indoor area looked nice as well.

The menu is good – lots of fresh salad options and all-day breakfast and lunch items. The combination of ingredients is creative and enticing and there are also gluten-free and organic vegan dishes.

We start with an omelette. This is not your average omelette, but a creative masterpiece and there is a choice of 2 fillings. We chose the 8-hour slow-cooked pork with sweet corn, roasted tomato, tomato relish, kim-chi, mozzarella cheese and furikake. (The other filling was a snow crab combination and it sounded just as fantastic.) This dish was beautifully presented and super delicious. It was generously filled and the kim-chi gave it a really nice gentle kick.

The Karaage Chicken Burger was jam-packed with crispy fried chicken breast, iceberg slaw and sriracha furikake mayo. The chicken was tender and juicy and it really was a great tasting burger. The sweet potato fries were the perfect partner and were also done well.

Dame A enjoyed her Tropicana Smoothie as the Corn Fritters arrived. Looking a lot like meatballs, they were arranged beautifully with avocado and tomato salsa, goat curd, a perfectly poached egg, tomato salsa, crispy leeks and fried tofu. Interesting combination – and it worked a treat. They were amazing and tasty.

The Pumpkin Bruschetta was next to arrive. It was a hefty slice of roasted pumpkin with pumpkin puree, soft boiled eggs, feta, pomegranate emulsion, pistachio dukkah and crispy bread wafers which made good scoops. This again was a great dish and the pumpkin was deliciously spiced and aromatic. We couldn’t stop eating this lovely dish despite being quite full!

Next a couple of tasty vegan dessert slices somehow found their way to our table!

The tea selection here is extensive and it would be a pity not to try one of the very interesting choices on the menu. Dame A chose the Hot Cinnamon Spice. It was similar to a chai tea and slightly sweet. Very nice! My Bangkok Green was also great and had lovely hints of ginger, lemongrass and coconut.

The staff here are super friendly and our lovely waitress Sye looked after us so well. Owner Daniel Kim (a chef himself) makes outstanding coffee and takes great pride in creating exciting dishes with head chef Ryan and his team.

The Mews is open 7 days a week from 6am until 3pm weekdays and starting 7am weekends. Thanks to Claire and April from CPM Online Marketing for the invitation.
