“Let’s have a cocktail somewhere” she said. “Sounds good” he said eagerly. We were in town near Chippendale so we headed there because we knew there are plenty of choices. Gin Lane just seemed so nice - and they had cosmopolitans there too!
Her cosmopolitan was paler than some others but still completely full flavoured. It’s her drink of choice most times these days and she really enjoyed it.
He had a Smoked Apple which was a drink and a show all in one. The drink itself was lavender infused bourbon, ginepi, pomme verte, calvados, lavender and prosecco. The drink arrived in an apple shaped clear dome and a smoky mix was then poured in on top. It was quite a spectacle with the smoke wafting out the hole in the glass apple. The drink itself was delicious too with prominent apple flavours.
Of course with a name like Gin Lane they offer plenty of gin based drinks too. There’s also a food menu offering bites and bigger dishes too.
At Gin Lane you can drink and dine inside or outside in the car-free laneway. There are even a few tables across the lane too. It’s a lovely spot for a drink. Next time we’ll spend a bit longer there and try their food too!
