We’ve eaten plenty of fish but this time it was their turn for revenge! We’d seen fish pedicures before but mostly on TV. Well here was one right in front of us. It was time to bite the bullet, hot foot it in there, toe the line or flesh it out! Mlady was to be the tester here.
So what fish are they? Well they’re not sharks, that’s for sure. They are actually Garra Rufa fish, a tiny carp that also called the Doctor fish and they don’t have teeth. They gum the dead skin from your feet to leave the new fresh skin that was underneath.
The lack of teeth means it doesn’t hurt either. It’s kind of a tickling sensation as the little mouths hoe down on your dead skin.
It was a once off experience that was certainly memorable. This painless exercise wasn’t expensive and took less than half an hour.
