BLACK MOCHA CAFE | TURRAMURRA, SYDNEY

November 9, 2016

Black Mocha Cafe
1305 Pacific Highway
Turramurra, Sydney

This somewhat innocuous cafe sitting right on the highway was quite a surprise package - in a good way! We dropped in for brunch and left very satisfied and quite impressed.

Coffee first up - as we all do on a weekend - and it turned out to be a good drop. Mlady had her usual soy cappuccino and Sir his usual skim flat white. We almost lamented the days when we, like everyone else, weren't so choosey about which milk we use. Oh well, we all have our preferences or health requirements! Anyway, we certainly enjoyed the brew they have here.

Meal time next and Sir was in his usual smoked salmon frame of mind. Although he does drift away from his true love (smoked salmon) he always comes back! This was a pretty impressive dish - and pretty too! He had the avocado and smoked salmon on toast with poached eggs. The colours literally popped on his plate. He certainly enjoyed it too - devouring every last bit.

Mlady, the more health focussed for her first meal of the day, and in fact the rest of the meals too,  chose a tasty house made granola. This was a massive serving again, full of flavour, texture and variety. She almost finished it - almost! It came with its own separate pot of milk.

Black Mocha Cafe prides itself on being kid friendly. It even has a separate play room at the back. The decor is simple yet pleasant. The service is friendly and helpful. The food and coffee are very good. It turned out to be a good find!
