KITCHENS ON KENT - MILLERS POINT, SYDNEY

Did somebody say smorgasbord? This is that and more. They actually have a range of “kitchens” around the venue manned by chefs who prepare made-to-order dishes as well as some house suggestions. What’s not to like about that! There was of course seafood - and plenty of it. One area had crab, prawns, oysters and mussels. Nearby there was freshly prepared sashimi - and you can actually watch it being delicately sliced and displayed. Let’s not forget the smoked salmon too. There was a tray of that across the aisle (in the cured meats area) all nicely rolled up in individual pieces.

There’s an alcove that has a wide range of kitchens in it. One had roasts (ham and turkey on this occasion), another has pots of hot veggies and other delicacies, then there was freshly made pizzas and individual pots of mac n cheese, the noodle and pasta station was next where you can mix and match a whole range of tasty ingredients, then there were dumplings and finally the “Indian” kitchen with several curries and the masterpiece tandoor where you can get freshly made to order naan bread in with plain, cheese or garlic. It’s a lot in just one area.

The absolute highlight though is the dessert area. This is amazing. The dual chocolate fountain - milk and strawberry - is a drawcard. The huge variety of small cakes, macarons and sweets were eye poppingly attractive. Then there was the donut tower - who can resist that! We were there at Christmas so there were also plenty of themed goodies. There was also a range of different chocolate slivers, chocolates and sweets. Let’s not forget the ice creams too - served to order!

We even had a range of cheeses and biscuits to finish off our massive meal. They were next to the bread area!

Kitchens on Kent is a very impressive addition to the buffets of Sydney. We will definitely be back again!
