We died and went to chocolate heaven when we arrived at Ramsgate’s new kid on the block, Tella Balls! The newest addition to the Tella Balls chain, the store serves up desserts that we once only dreamed of. The menu consists of the most decadent, chocolatey creations on earth – satisfaction and sugar high guaranteed.
We were like kids in a candy store and didn’t know where to begin, or what to order! We eventually decided on the Waffle Burger and Fruitella Crepes.
The waffle burger was a monster dessert big enough to satisfy any sweet tooth. This dish was a mountain of vanilla bean gelato, fresh strawberries and bananas, and oozy Nutella sandwiched between two perfectly crisp-on-the-outside, fluffy-on-the-inside house made waffles. It’s safe to say that this was big enough to share, but who wants to share dessert?!
The Fruitella Crepes were fluffy and warm, and were stuffed full with fresh strawberries, bananas and Nutella, and topped with creamy vanilla bean gelato. As the warmth of the crepes slowly melted the ice cream, they absorbed all the vanilla bean goodness and the freshness of the fruit perfectly cut the sweetness of the lashings of Nutella.
We quickly learned that having dinner first wasn’t the best idea. These desserts are a meal in themselves and will certainly satisfy the greatest of sugar cravings.
It was difficult to resist ordering the infamous store namesake, Tella Balls, to takeaway. Tella Balls are gooey balls of brioche donut usually filled with Nutella. Divine!
We can’t wait to return for our next sugar fix at the sweetest place on earth!
