SALT & LIGHT - CHATSWOOD, SYDNEY

We decided to do a spot of shopping at Chatswood and thought that a good hearty breakfast was required to enable us to do this. We needed energy to fuel our retail therapy. Looking for a place to put us in good stead for our shopping we ended up at Salt and Light.

Salt and Light is a casual and comfy venue and we were lucky to secure a table for two as it was a Saturday morning there were a lot of people out and about, no doubt doing what we were intending to do - shop.

Glasses of water were provided quickly and Mlady stayed with this but Sir ordered his usual - skim flat white (with no sugar - finally!).

Mlady wanted something warm and hearty as it was a chilly morning so she chose an egg and bacon roll with house made relish. This really was delicious! The egg was sunny side up, there was a good supply of bacon and the relish was incredibly flavoursome. It had a lovely soft bun that importantly held all these mouth-watering components together. Mlady thoroughly enjoyed her brekkie.

Sir had poached eggs with a side of avocado which also came with a side of salad. This vibrant, tasty and fresh meal looked good. Sir is such a huge fan of avocado and seems to have it whenever possible. This was an appetising fare and a bit of cracked pepper made this wholesome dish complete.

Salt and Light has a nice feel to it with a kind of rustic country décor. It's a look that fits the place well by keeping things uncluttered and simple.

Salt and Light clearly does a busy trade on weekend mornings. The décor helps attract attention on the busy mall but the good sized servings that are visible on the tables seals the deal.
