FLYING EGG | ST LEONARDS, SYDNEY

Flying Egg
The Forum, 6P6
201-205 Pacific Hwy
St Leonards, Sydney

This delightful new cafe sits inside The Forum at St Leonards, the centre of the hustle and bustle of this north shore Sydney suburb. Tastefully decorated, Flying Egg is filled with natural light and lovely furnishings. Right at the entrance you are greeted by their pastries and cakes, and their beautiful coffee machine.

Serving The Grounds coffee, we were keen to get these straight away. Duke with a latte, Duchess with a cappuccino. Perfectly presented (who doesn't love those teal cups!) these coffees went down a treat.

Duke was incredibly hungry, so ordered the Morning Glory breakfast, complete with 2 poached eggs, bacon, tomato, portobello mushroom, a hashbrown, spinach, sourdough and chipolata sausages. This was glorious! Duke loved the eggs, perfectly cooked, and the hash brown was delicious and not too oily.

Duchess ordered the eggs benedict, with 2 60 degree poached eggs, chive hollandaise and a side of bacon. This looked delicious! The hollandaise was beautifully creamy and not overpowering, and the eggs were wonderfully cooked.

We would have stayed for cakes and pastries had we the room! Their lunch menu also looked delicious. All in all, Flying Egg certainly served up some great eggs.

Thanks to Shane, our chef, and to Mike from the great meal deal site Ompty.com for organising our visit.
