Eating at Darling Harbour means having to make the hard choice of where to go. We landed at Dragon Boat for a quick bite as Sir wanted to dine on duck - which isn’t at all unusual. It’s inside Harbourside Shopping Centre but gazes out over Darling harbour as most of the eateries here do. In this case they are up on the first floor.

As duck was wanted duck was had. The Beijing Roast Duck - or Peking Duck - was promptly ordered. It was great to see the half duck arrive at the table all golden and crisp to be carved there beside us for the pancakes. Deftly, chunks of meat and crisp skin were sliced and set on a plate for our use. The remainder of the duck was then taken away to be carved up for later on. We eagerly placed chunks of meat, shallots and tangy hoi sin sauce into the pancakes and devoured them.

A bit later the carved up duck reappeared for our dining pleasure. And it was certainly a pleasure eating this too. The meat was tender and juicy and the skin was crisp and tasty as well.

We also had a plate of fried rice with our quick meal. It was quite a big plate too with plenty of prawns in it. We were actually quite impressed with the rice.

Dragon Boat ticked all the necessary boxes for us. The duck was tasty with great skin and the serving size was good too. The pancakes satisfied our carvings and the rice was delish as well. There were also nice views out over Darling harbour and the food arrived quickly - which was just what we wanted.
