We were on a laksa hunt again and saw it on the menu here. Off we headed to Hornsby for a hot bowl of spicy goodness. Chef’s Noodle has been around for a long time. Thry mostly dish out good sized servings of noodle combinations but we also spied that they had laksa on the menu.

While almost all the dishes on the menu are “mains” they do have one or two starters available. We grabbed a serving of the spring rolls even though laksa is always a big meal. The spring rolls came in a serving of six and they were hot, crispy and tasty. The sweet and sour dipping sauce went well too.

Mlady steered to the vegetable laksa. Even though it wasn’t specifically listed on their menu, we asked and unsurprisingly it was an option. The serving came in two bowls with the soup and veggies in one and the cooked noodles in another ready for adding. There was room to add them too without the main bowl overflowing. She devoured it and thoroughly enjoyed it all. It wasn’t as spicy as some laksa’s and there wasn’t the usual slick of chilli oil on top, but it was still big on typical laksa flavours.

Sir went nautical and ordered seafood laksa. The flavours were again lovely with mild spiciness and there was plenty of seafood swimming around the bowl.

Chefs Noodle are more than just noodles. Although the bulk of dishes leaving here are noodle and protein ones they do have a good laksa base too. The food is good value, comes in good servings and is made quickly.
