THE DOME - EDINBURGH, SCOTLAND

The Dome - Georgian Tea Room
14 George St
New Town
Edinburgh

Such a pretty place from the outside - and even nicer on the inside! People come here just to photograph it. However there is a lot more than sparkles and lights to the dome. There are two places to eat here - the restaurant and the cafe. We weren't after a full meal so we chose the cafe which is upstairs.

If you're visiting for afternoon tea - and not having a high tea - then the next best thing is of course scones. We both couldn't resist. I had the fruit scone with clotted cream and she had the plain scone with whipped cream. Both were extremely nice. I love clotted cream. It may be terrible for you but it tastes so good! They came with their own little jars of jam too.

The coffee and tea there was done well also. The little tarts that came with our hot drinks was an added bonus and a nice touch. They tasted great too.

We'd go back here just for the ambience. The food was good but the interior and exterior are spectacular.
