ORGANIC BEANS AND BAR - HORNSBY, SYDNEY

Organic Beans and Bar
236 Pacific Highway
Westfield Shopping Centre
Hornsby, Sydney

This café/restaurant sits on the mall in Hornsby between the water clock and the station. It's a busy area by day and a bit quieter by night. It's a casual place that serves food all day from breakfast through to dinner.

The sambal chilli prawn wonton stack with shallot, ginger, coriander slaw was a very pretty dish. The crunch of the wontons contrasted nicely with the soft tender prawn meat. The slaw and salad added some extra flavour and texture. It was a nice start to the meal.

We do love squid dishes. The salt and Szechuan pepper squid with cucumber, slaw, mint, basil, coriander, peanuts and Asian dressing was probably the dish of the night for us. The squid was extremely tender and the flavours went perfectly together.

Sir is a ribs fan so he eagerly chose the full ribs and chips as his main course. It was described as sticky bourbon BBQ glaze pork ribs served with steak house chips. It was a nice dish. The chips were very tasty too.

Mlady headed towards the seafood and ordered the grilled barramundi fillet. It came served with oven roasted rosemary potato, steamed vegetables and lemon butter herb sauce. She was certainly satisfied after finishing this one.

Waffles look so good, don't they? This Messina Belgian waffle came topped with banana and strawberries, a dollop of ice cream and then it was all drizzled with runny Nutella. It was picture perfect.

Cheesecake is also available here. The blueberry cheesecake looked and tasted great and it came served with a dollop of ice cream.

Organic Beans and Bar serves good sized meals that certainly fill you up. They have a decent range of options too and we also hear that their breakfasts are outstanding.
