BONDI TRATTORIA | BONDI BEACH, SYDNEY

Bondi Trattoria

Italian food and a view out over Bondi Beach is a hard combo to beat. We were at Bondi Trattoria in lovely Bondi Beach and this joint has views that look out onto the barely clad tourists and locals strolling by and down and across the beach itself from it's high vantage point. It's large open windows and outside seating take full advantage of this - as you'd expect.

We nibbled a few tasty olives while we perused the menu making our choices for the meal that lay ahead. These were a great start on their own.

Our starters were the arancini balls and the stuffed zucchini flowers. The first thing we noticed was that these arancini balls were massive. They were nicely crisp on the outside and moist and tasty inside though - as they should be. The zucchini flowers, with a crisp coating, were nicely gooey inside too. We were off to a good start.

We decided to stick with pizza's on this occasion. It just seemed like a pizza kind of day - well it did to us at least. A good test for any pizzeria is their margherita. It's kind of a benchmark. This was a tasty version with a nice base, good tomato and  topped with mozzarella di bufala and scattered basil leaves.

Our second - the prawn pizza was the real winner though. It was topped with king prawns, basil, chilli oil, rocket and lemon zest. It had great flavours and looked just as impressive too. Loved this one.

We left full and content. Bondi Trattoria has nice food in a killer location. It's a place to drop by for a relaxed chilled meal and just gaze out over Bondi Beach soaking up that view.
